Multifamily HEEHRA Income Verification

Submit my tenant income qualification information

Income verification requests are part of the HEEHRA reservation process for multifamily properties (properties containing 5 or more residential units) interested in a Multifamily heat pump HVAC, heat pump water heater, and/or other multifamily property rebates.

HEEHRA requires tenants use the income verification portal to determine property-wide eligibility. If you received notification from your property owner that income verification is needed to access energy saving rebates, please click the button above to submit your information.

Your property's Multifamily HEEHRA rebate reservation is not approved until your property owner and their HEEHRA-trained and TECH Clean California-certified contractor are informed of satisfactory income verification submittal and a reservation form signature is requested and completed.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the next steps after my income application is approved?

  • No other steps are required for tenants. Your property owner will be responsible for contractor coordination and payments once your property's rebate reservation is finalized.

Does my approved income verification application mean that my property's funding is reserved for my project?

  • No. An approved income verification is not an approval or reservation for the multifamily rebate—it is verification of your income eligibility only. Any multifamily property requested to submit income verification has been selected as eligible for reserving funds and will have funds reserved once program requirements have been met. Your property owner requesting income verification means there is a high likelihood that your property will have rebate funds reserved. Funding will only be reserved for your project once the reservation request submitted by your property owner and TECH Clean California-certified contractor is approved.

Will I be required to pay for the multifamily equipment and labor installed in my multifamily unit?

  • Only property owners are required to pay for HEEHRA Multifamily equipment installations. If you own your unit, you or your HOA will be required to pay.
  • If you are a renter or tenant of a multifamily property that is reserving rebates, you are not required to pay for upgrades. Property owners and landlords cannot increase rent due to costs associated with multifamily HEEHRA rebated equipment.

Will my submitted information be shared with my landlord?

  • No personal information or income details will be shared with your landlord.
